Originating in countries north of the Mediterranean Sea, Spain, Greece & Italy. This style pulls in colorful, Spanish-inspired details, from the ornate furniture to the textured walls. Mediterranean colors typically mirror those of the sea and sky, but can also include warm hues of yellow and lavender. Mosaic tiles, often seen in kitchen backsplashes or on the floor, are the most popular features of Mediterranean interiors design.

  • Spanish style could include Moorish or Moroccan influence with wrought iron, patterned tiles stucco walls and bright textiles.
  • Greek style takes its cue form the sea, with lots of deep blues, crisp aquas and turquoises mixed with white plaster and whitewashed floors.
  • Italian style features lots of earthy materials such as terracotta, clay tiles and rustic beams.
